NBA Standings Update After Play-In Games – Blazer's Edge

With the completion of Friday’s play-in games, we now know which teams are headed to the NBA Draft Lottery.
With the New Orleans Pelicans and Miami Heat’s play-in victories Friday night, we now know the positions of all NBA teams as they prepare for the draft lottery. However, we won’t learn the specific order of tied teams until next week, and of course the final order is determined on May 12th, when the NBA picks the top four spots in draft lottery.

You can see the current odds of each pick via Tankathon, but remember that this is before the NBA determines the order of teams that are tied. So teams that are tied (Portland/Charlotte and Sacramento/Golden State) may still swap positions.
Portland’s odds of landing a top-4 pick is just over 50%. Golden State’s odds of jumping into a top 4 pick (which is the only way they keep their pick, instead of conveying it to Portland) is about 3.6%.
Next week: The NBA holds a “coin flip” (technically now a ping-pong ball drawing) to decide the official order of the tied teams. This is untelevised and announced via their web site and social media. Lottery teams with the same record will have their odds virtually-evenly split, and the “coin flip” will determine how uneven splits are resolved.
May 12: The NBA’s draft lottery takes place. The 14 non-playoff teams all get a shot at the top 4 positions in the draft. Once those four teams are chosen, the remaining teams are slotted 5-14 based on the reverse order of record, with ties resolved by the results of the “coin flip” above.
