Championship basketball is taking Kansas City by storm.
Today, both the women and men of the Big 12 take to the court at the T-Mobile Center.
Tuesday is one of those days circled on the calendar by both the Big 12 conference and Kansas City tourism leaders. For the first time here at the T-Mobile Center, the women’s and men’s basketball teams are playing on the same day in the same arena.
The big highlight is tonight’s women’s championship. The Iowa State Cyclones won yesterday over the Oklahoma Sooners, advancing to tonight’s final against the Texas Longhorns, who beat the Kansas State Wildcats, setting up a rematch of last year’s finale.
Tipoff is tonight at 8 p.m.
While this game is the day’s main course, here are the appetizers: At 11:30 a.m., we will see Central Florida and Oklahoma State get the men’s Big 12 championship started, then at 2 p.m., it will be Cincinnati and West Virginia.
