Only six days remain in the college basketball transfer window, but the action will continue this spring as the more than 1,700 players in the portal search for a new destination. Thirty-four of the top 100 transfer prospects of the 2024 cycle are still available, but highly-coveted names are flowing off the board as recruiting visits ramp up in April.
Another busy week of transfer commitments resulted in numerous top 100 portal prospects making their next move, including another addition for Indiana, which maintains the No. 1 spot in the transfer portal team rankings
Once again a jam-packed weekend of transfer recruiting visits could lead to more commitment decisions from some of the best available prospects left on the board, likely causing more movement in the team rankings. The spring portal window remains open until May 1, but that is not a deadline for transfers to make a decision on their next destination.

Transfer Portal Ranking: 4-star | 97 rating | No. 1 SG | No. 2 overall
Johnell Davis, one of the top overall transfer prospects this cycle, remains uncommitted for the 2024-25 season despite early beliefs he would follow former Florida Atlantic head coach Dusty May to Michigan. The market value for Davis remains high as he searches for a destination ahead of what will be his final year of eligibility. One SEC program in particular is beginning to emerge as a potential favorite. The 6-foot-4, 203-pound guard averaged career highs with 18.2 points, 6.3 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game this past season. Davis shot 48.3% from the field and 41.4% from 3-point range. Davis played a key role in helping Florida Atlantic reach the 2023 Final Four.
Transfer Portal Ranking: 4-star | 97 rating | No. 2 C | No. 5 overall
Former Utah State standout and Mountain West Player of the Year Great Osobor is the top available big man in the portal. He too was expected to follow his previous head coach to a new destination as Danny Sprinkle departed for Washington, but that also is no longer a guaranteed outcome. Kentucky and new head coach Mark Pope are a contender to watch for Osobor while he also has visits planned to Louisville, Texas Tech and Washington. The 6-foot-8, 250-pound center averaged 17.7 points, 9.0 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game while shooting 57.7% from the field this season.
Transfer Portal Ranking: 4-star | 96 rating | No. 1 PG | No. 7 overall
Javon Small became the top-rated transfer point guard when he entered the portal in early April. After just one season at Oklahoma State, the 6-foot-3, 195-pound do-it-all guard is on the move again having started his career at East Carolina. Small led the Cowboys with 15.1 points and 4.1 assists while adding 4.7 rebounds per game. He shot 44.1% from the field, including 37.4% from 3-point range. Small visited Miami last week and was at Ole Miss earlier this week as well. The two-time transfer is familiar with the process and appears to be exhausting all options with several other visits lined up.
Transfer Portal Ranking: 4-star | 96 rating | No. 3 C | No. 8 overall
Rutgers big man Clifford Omoruyi is still available despite early expectations that his transfer recruitment would move quickly. St. John’s initially jumped out as the favorite, but now a list of high-major programs are now in the mix. Omoruyi spent four seasons at Rutgers and will use his additional year of eligibility elsewhere in 2024-25. The 6-foot-11, 240-pound center averaged double-digit scoring in each of his final three seasons with the Scarlet Knights, including 10.4 points, 8.3 rebounds and 2.9 blocks per game (third-most in Division I) during the 2023-24 campaign.
Transfer Portal Ranking: 4-star | 96 rating | No. 2 PF | No. 11 overall
Jonas Aidoo could be the next transfer portal domino for Baylor. The former Tennessee power forward visited Waco last weekend and is set to visit Arkansas this upcoming weekend with other high-major programs in pursuit. Aidoo experienced somewhat of a breakout season for the Volunteers, moving into a role as a regular starter. The 6-foot-11, 241-pound big man averaged 11.4 points, 7.3 rebounds and 1.8 blocks — all of which were career highs for the junior. Aidoo shot 51.5% from the field. He brings experience and certainly size as a viable transfer.
Transfer Portal Ranking: 4-star | 96 rating | No. 3 PF | No. 13 overall
Texas lost a number of key pieces to the transfer portal this week, including sophomore Dillon Mitchell, who started in 71 of 72 games played during his two seasons in Austin. The 6-foot-8, 205-pound forward averaged 9.6 points, 7.5 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game while shooting 58.5% from the field. Mitchell is one of 13 former McDonald’s All-Americans to hit the transfer portal this cycle. He rated as a five-star prospect coming out of the 2022 class.
Transfer Portal Ranking: 4-star | 96 rating | No. 2 CG | No. 14 overall
Aidan Mahaney hit the transfer portal last week after two seasons at Saint Mary’s. The 6-foot-3, 180-pound sophomore guard averaged 13.9 points per game both years with the Gaels, but experienced a slight decrease in efficiency this past season. He shot 38.6% from the field and 35.5% from 3-point range. Still, Mahaney instantly became one of the best available transfer prospects of this cycle upon entering, which is why a number of high-major programs including Kentucky are gauging interest right away.
Transfer Portal Ranking: 4-star | 95 rating | No. 4 C | No. 16 overall
Another former McDonald’s All-American currently in the portal, Oklahoma State big man Brandon Garrison entered shortly after the spring window began back in March. The 6-foot-11, 245-pound center averaged 7.5 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.5 blocks as a true freshman this past season. Garrison also started in 29 of 32 games for the Pokes. He did have a “do not contact” tag upon entering the portal last month, but has been connected to Oklahoma and Texas, where he visited last weekend.
Transfer Portal Ranking: 4-star | 95 rating | No. 4 SF | No. 22 overall
Adou Thiero is still considering a return to Kentucky, but his final list of suitors includes teaming up with former head coach John Calipari at Arkansas, as well as Indiana, North Carolina and Pittsburgh. The 6-foot-8, 222-pound sophomore guard made 19 starts in 25 total games played for the Wildcats this season. He averaged 7.2 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.1 blocks per game. The former top 150 high school prospect shot 49.2% from the field. Thiero has until May 29 to withdraw from the NBA Draft while maintaining college eligibility.
Transfer Portal Ranking: 4-star | 95 rating | No. 5 SF | No. 23 overall
There are three high-major programs standing out in the mix for former Oklahoma wing Otega Oweh. The 6-foot-5, 215-pound sophomore visited Oregon and has two additional visits scheduled with SEC programs. Oweh spent two seasons with the Sooners. He averaged 11.4 points per game for the Sooners during the 2023-24 campaign. Oweh added 3.8 rebounds, 1.0 assists and 1.5 steals to his stat line while shooting 49.3% from the field. He started in 28 of 32 games this season, averaging 24.9 minutes per contest.
