Warriors News: Andrew Wiggins ‘fighting’ to earn back his starting role – Golden State of Mind

Afterward, Wiggins acknowledged he was surprised by the benching but didn’t seem too bothered by the move.
“It’s different, different for sure,” Wiggins said. “It’s another thing I have to deal with. Whatever happens happens. Of course I want to get back to my normal spot. But it could take time, who knows? I can’t really dwell on something that’s a decision made by somebody [else]. I just have to keep playing, keep staying aggressive, stay in the gym and just try to do the right things.
“Anything can happen in this league. I’m blessed to be here and if I want to get out of this little doghouse I just have to keep fighting my way out.”
Despite a brutal night on both ends against the Suns, Thompson was surprised and outwardly ticked off when he was pulled in the fourth quarter. He handled it professionally in the locker room and responded on the floor in the aftermath. Here are his three scoring nights since.

Curry on his snapped 3pt streak: “I was very aware…when you don’t make one you definitely feel it. I definitely care because I wanted to see how far I can stretch it. Obviously now start another one.”
“There’s been a lot of conversations, a lot of noise around us. We had a meeting the day before the [Clippers] game that was important for us to kind of settle on where we were, what was going on and everybody [could] kind of say how they felt,” Curry told reporters.
The star point guard then detailed the baggage stemming from the hectic events recently surrounding the team and how that adversity creates an opportunity to be there for your teammates.
“The game of basketball presents a lot of challenges on the court, but the friendships that you have and the connections that you have,” Curry explained. “Especially for a guy like Draymond [Green], who we’ve been to war with for over a decade, all that stuff does weigh on you because you’re trying to figure it out, you’re trying to support him but also — it’s just basketball but there is a lot of stress that you carry to perform while you’re kind of managing all of the emotions that were going on and trying to just be in the right place for each other.

Murray scored a franchise-best 26 points in the third quarter and had Thompson’s record in his sights after making 12 of his first 13 attempts. But the second-year forward missed his final two shots from behind the arc while becoming the seventh player to make a dozen or more 3s in a game.
“I thought Keegan was playing the right way,” Kings coach Mike Brown said. “There was nothing really forced. Our guys didn’t really force anything to him. They just hit him when he was open.
A benefit of Beal’s recent return is that he gave the Suns an extra playmaker. It helped take the pressure off Booker, who has carried a heavy load. Without Beal, Grayson Allen is capable. He pushes tempo and initiates offense. The Suns could even run the offense through Durant. But where this could hurt most is with rotations. Phoenix has had so many injuries, Vogel has yet to figure out a consistent substitution pattern. The Suns struggle without Booker on the court and they have yet to figure out an answer. The difference being that the gravity comes in the form of a big rolling to the rim and making himself a threat to score in the paint — which forces rotation and help. That help, in turn, can open up looks for other offensive players, often around the perimeter.
Trayce Jackson-Davis seems to be the only big on this current iteration of the roster who can consistently force help rotations with his dives to the rim — with good reason. He’s a fundamentally sound screener who can make things immediately difficult for defenders at the point of attack; he’s nimble and mobile enough to force defenders to have to make quick decisions; his athleticism and above-the-rim capabilities make him a credible finishing threat.
On Thursday, Curry was asked about his longtime teammate. Steph didn’t shy away from agreeing that Green’s actions in the last year — which also include putting Rudy Gobert in a chokehold, and punching then-teammate Jordan Poole — are unacceptable. But, as one would expect, he stood by his teammate, putting faith in Green’s ability to grow, mature, and come back a better person.
