After an exciting NBA season, where the Denver Nuggets made history by winning their first Championship, now it’s time for another interesting moment for the league’s teams.
The NBA Draft took place last Thursday, with Victor Wembanyama getting most of the attention before and after being selected as the No. 1 overall pick by the San Antonio Spurs at Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
The 19-year-old French basketball star, considered by many as the most-hyped prospect since LeBron James, stole the show in New York, although there was also a lot of hype around other prospects like Brandon Miller, Scoot Henderson, or the Thompson twins.

Now, though, NBA fans will be looking to the next most interesting NBA event, the free agency period, which will allow teams to sign players and make changes to their rosters thinking on the next campaign.
Free agency will begin on Friday, June 30 at 6 p.m. ET. That’s the date when teams will officially be able to begin negotiating with prospective free agents, although it’s well-known that these discussions happen during the season and some deals are announced even before the free agency period.
Players will have to wait until July 6 at 12:01 a.m. ET to officially sign the deals.
There will be some top free agents this summer, like James Harden, Kyrie Irving, Khris Middleton, Fred VanVleet, and Draymond Green.
