The American Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Saint Joseph’s Hawks at 7:00 p.m. ET on Wednesday at Michael J. Hagan ’85 Arena. Coming off a loss in a game American was expected to win, they now face the more daunting task of proving themselves against unfavorable odds.
Last Saturday, it was a hard-fought contest, but the Eagles had to settle for a 75-73 defeat against the Red Flash. It was the first time this season that American let down their fans at home.

The Eagles have yet to win a game at home this season, leaving them with a 4-5 record. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 84.0 points per game. As for the Hawks, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as American and Saint Joseph’s are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. American hasn’t had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 76.2 points per game. However, it’s not like Saint Joseph’s struggles in that department as they’ve been averaging 76 per game. The oddsmakers were right in line with the betting community on this one, as the game opened as a 14.5-point spread, and stayed right there.
