The NBA In-Season Tournament bracket is here. The 30-team group stage portion of NBA’s inaugural In-Season Tournament has been whittled down to an eight-team field, and the knockout round will start early next week. The quarterfinal games, two Monday and two Tuesday, will be held on the home floor of the four highest seeds — the Bucks and the Pacers in the East and the Lakers and the Kings in the West.
In the East, the Celtics (Group C winner) will visit the Pacers (Group A winner) on Monday, and the Bucks (Group B winner) will host the Knicks (wild card) on Tuesday. In the West, the Pelicans (Group B winner) will head to the Kings (Group C winner) on Monday and the next day the Suns (wild card) will travel to face the Lakers (Group A winner) to close the quarterfinal round. The winners will play the teams in their respective conferences on Thursday, Dec. 7 in Las Vegas, with the final taking place two days later.
Early Wednesday morning the NBA released the schedule of flex games, that is the set of contests to be played by the teams that will not advance to Las Vegas. There will be 11 games next Wednesday and 13 games on Friday, Dec. 8, with the final two to be determined by the losing teams from the quarterfinals. The In-Season Tournament culminates in the championship for the NBA Cup, a title game that will not count toward the league’s 82-game regular season standings.
Here’s a quick refresher on how the In-Season Tournament is working. The home teams have debuted this season’s city edition uniforms during games that have been played on specially designed courts.
