NEW YORK – The Seton Hall men’s basketball team will tip off a 20-game BIG EAST Conference slate on Wednesday, Dec. 20, when the Pirates host defending national champion UConn at Prudential Center as the league announced the full 2023-24 schedule on Friday.

Season tickets for all 16 men’s basketball games at Prudential Center are on sale both for the general population and for Seton Hall University students. Season tickets, which start at $215 per seat (plus a priority seat premium if applicable) represent the best possible value for cheering on the Pirates all season long.
For additional season ticket information, call the ticket office at (973) 275-4255 during normal business hours or email tickets@shu.edu. A mini plan option will go on sale in the coming days, and single-game tickets will go on sale later this fall. All tickets in 2023-24 are mobile, and fans can download the SHU Pirates mobile app on all iOS and Android smartphones to manage their tickets via account manager.

Seton Hall is led by second-year head coach Shaheen Holloway, who last season recorded the most overall wins (17) and most BIG EAST wins (10) of any first-year Pirates head coach in program history. Seton Hall returns three of its top four scorers from 2022-23, Al-Amir Dawes (Newark, N.J.), Kadary Richmond (Brooklyn, N.Y.) and Dre Davis (Indianapolis, Ind.), and has reloaded with four impact veteran transfers and two high-ceiling freshmen. The Pirates have advanced to the postseason in six of the last seven years, including the NCAA Tournament five times.

Here are some notes about the 2023-24 schedule:
The Pirates will play all 10 BIG EAST teams in a 20-game, double round-robin format. This 20-game format has been in place since 2020-21.
Seton Hall will be hitting the road early on in the conference schedule as four of the Pirates’ first six BIG EAST games are on the road.
The Pirates open the conference slate with UConn at Prudential Center on Dec. 20. The last time Seton Hall played UConn in its league opener was in 2007-08 when Pirates took on the Huskies at Prudential Center on Jan. 3, 2008. It will only be the third time ever that The Hall has played UConn in its BIG EAST opener.
The Hall’s first conference road game will be in Cincinnati for the second consecutive season as the Pirates will clash with Xavier on Dec. 23. Seton Hall has come out victorious in four of its last five trips to Cintas Center.
The Pirates will have two premier matchups at Prudential Center that land on a Saturday in January; defending BIG EAST champions Marquette (Saturday, Jan. 6) and Elite 8 participant Creighton (Saturday, Jan. 20).
The Hall will also host January home games against traditional BIG EAST foes St. John’s (Tuesday, Jan. 16) and Providence (Wednesday, Jan. 24).
Seton Hall makes its inaugural appearance at UBS Arena on Long Island in Elmont, N.Y. against St. John’s on Feb. 18.
Following three February contests at The Rock against Georgetown (Wednesday, Feb. 7), Xavier (Wednesday, Feb. 14) and Butler (Saturday, Feb. 24), the Pirates will wrap up the BIG EAST slate and the regular season with back-to-back home games against Villanova (Wednesday, March 6) and DePaul (Saturday, March 9).
The BIG EAST Tournament Presented by Jeep will be played in Madison Square Garden for the 42nd consecutive year.  Won by the Pirates three times, most recently in 2016, it is the longest running postseason championship in college basketball at the same venue.
Since 2016, Seton Hall is 15-8 overall at “The World’s Most Famous Arena.”
