J. Cole has cleared the air regarding any beef with NBA YoungBoy.
Cole’s appearance on Drake’s “First Person Shooter” finds the North Carolina emcee clarifying that the two men have no issue. Cole even suggests that he still wants to find a way to work with the Baton Rouge entertainer. But if it is beef, J. Cole insists he won’t mince his words.
“Ni**as so thirsty to put me in beef,” he rapped. “Dissectin’ my words and start lookin’ too deep/I look at the tweets and start suckin’ my teeth/I’m lettin’ it rock ’cause I love the mystique/I still wanna get me a song with YB/Can’t trust everything that you saw on IG/Just know if I diss you, I’d make sure you know that I hit you like I’m on your caller ID.”
The Dreamville head honcho also addresses being a part of the “Big Three” with Drizzy and Kendrick Lamar while asserting he’s Muhammad Ali—in other words, “I am the greatest.”
“Still in this bi**h gettin’ bigger, they waitin’ on the kid to come drop like a father to be/Love when they argue the hardest MC,” he continues. “Is it K-Dot? Is it Aubrey? Or me?/We the big three like we started a league, but right now, I feel like Muhammed Ali/yeah, Muhammed Ali/The one that they call when they sh*t ain’t connectin’ no more, feel like/I got a job in IT/Rhymin’ with me is the biggest mistake.”
The NBA rumors first began when fans claimed YoungBoy dissed Cole on “F**k The Industry Pt. 2.” YB allegedly took shots at the rapper after he declined his request for a collaboration. He also name-drops Drake and Lil Durk in a couple of bars prior.
“Bi**h, I’ll send them hitters to hit at you, boy, don’t say sh*t to me/Talked to Drake ‘cross FaceTime, he wasn’t feelin’ me/Told me that he f**k with Durk, damn, that sh*t gettin’ to me/Told me that he like the sh*t I’m doin’, but can’t do sh*t with me/So when we cross our ways, f**k what you say, bi**h, you my enemy,” he asserted. “J a h*e, that ni**a played it cold like he was gon’ do a feature/So I texted his line a muscle sign, I swear it’s gon’ be nice to meet you/Pu**y ni**as tryna close the door/Bi**h, you ain’t heard? Back from Baton Rouge to that ‘Nolia, we cutthroat.”
Fans then alleged Cole shot back at the Louisiana rapper during his verse on Lil Yachty’s “The Secret Recipe.” “Ni**as makin’ threats and I laugh, that’s ’cause you ain’t a threat/Don’t ask how I feel ’bout no rappers, sh*t, they okay, I guess/Incomin’ call, press the button, the one that say accept/ He FaceTime to ask for a feature and saw the face of death,” he spit.
