Fans of the Detroit Pistons are hoping to see competitive basketball next season and have a variety of ways to watch it, including NBA League Pass.
The platform has come under criticism in recent years because some games are blacked out in certain markets, which can make it difficult to follow the local team.
The league is trying to crack down on illegal streams but has really missed the point, as a lot of fans turn to these methods because they don’t want to pay for NBA League Pass when many of their favorite team’s games will be blacked out.
But for those of us who live out of market, NBA League Pass is a great service and can be a good value if you watch a lot of games. Just be sure to check the blackout rules in your area before you make the purchase.
You can get the entire schedule on NBA League Pass live or on-demand for $99 or $139 if you want it commercial free. Personally, I wouldn’t splash out for the higher priced one, as the “commercials” are usually just a blue screen saying “we’ll be right back” anyway, at least on the version I use.
You can buy the Team Pass, which gives you access to just the Detroit Pistons for $94.99 per season, so it’s better value to just pay five bucks more and get all of the games.
You can pay by the month for $14.99 per month or $19.99 for the commercial-free version.
Yes! Those of you who are still in school can get 40 percent off NBA League Pass Monthly if you are eligible. To be eligible “…you must currently be enrolled in a degree or certificate-granting, accredited school of education.”
Yes, NBA League Pass can be streamed using your Amazon Fire TV or Fire Stick or on an Xbox Series One, X or S as well as both Playstation 4 and 5. Here is a full list of supported devices.
Here is the  blackout information for games in the United States and Canada:
Blackouts are specific to your current location, so if your location changes, your blackout restrictions for live, locally televised games will also change. Your location is determined by the IP address or location services (if turned on). Within the US and Canada, a zip code is used to determine what teams are covered by your local broadcaster.”

You can search your zip code under “what can I watch” on the packages page to determine if games in your area will be blacked out.
