UMD Women's Basketball Opens Season with an Exhibition Win … – UMD Bulldogs

The #2 ranked University of Minnesota Duluth Women’s Basketball team got back to business today with a dominant 76-41 exhibition win over Lakehead University at Romano Gymnasium.
The Bulldogs ended the game with a 40% field goal percentage, going 30-75 throughout all four quarters. They took every opportunity to capitalize on fouls, scoring 11 out of their 13 free throw shots. With 26 of their total points coming off of turnovers, UMD held the Thunderwolves to just three minutes of time with a lead and only two lead changes throughout the entire game. Senior guard and today’s Player of the Game Taya Hakamaki tied for the lead in total points with 13, while also tallying five total rebounds and three steals.
