CLEVELAND – Mac McClung got minimal minutes in his second NBA preseason game with the Orlando Magic, but he was efficient when he was on the court.
The Gate City High School graduate recorded two points, one rebound and one steal in playing the final four minutes of Orlando’s 108-105 triumph over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Thursday night.
McClung played the fewest minutes of any of the 18 players who logged minutes for the Magic.
The 6-foot-2 guard also helped the seal the deal as his steal of a pass by Craig Porter Jr. prevented Cleveland from getting a shot off on its final possession.
McClung converted a floater in the lane with 3:01 remaining and hauled down an offensive rebound with 1:58 left.
That came two days after he went for three points, two assists, one rebounds and one block in a win over New Orleans.
The 24-year-old McClung has four games of NBA experience previously in stints with the Chicago Bulls, Los Angeles Lakers and Philadelphia 76ers. He is the reigning NBA slam dunk contest champ.
McClung will be back on the court Tuesday when Orlando (2-0) hosts New Orleans.
Moritz Wagner scored 14 points off the bench for the visiting Magic and Markelle Fultz had 13. The trio shot a combined 15-of-20.
Darius Garland scored 19 points for Cleveland.
