TOM Brady's tenure as a minority owner in the WNBA's Las Vegas Aces has begun.
After his deal to buy into the reigning champions was approved on Monday, the 46-year-old made his way to Michelob Ultra Arena for Game 1 of the Finals on Sunday.
But Brady wasn't given the warmest of welcomes.
Aces All-Star Kelsey Plum had some stern words for the seven-time Super Bowl champion after he took his seat courtside.
Speaking to the media after the game, she revealed that she welcomed Brady by telling him: "It's about effing time you showed up."
Brady took it well, responding: "You already know," later commenting on X, formerly known as Twitter: "Nobody is safe from KP."
Following their 99-82 win over the New York Liberty, Plum explained that she was: "Just super excited for [Brady's] investment in our franchise and understanding what that means, for us and our growth, not just us but the league and putting eyes on us.
"I joke around, but it's been awesome to have him, and I know he cares.
"He has daughters and nieces that play women's sports and so he understands the investment that it takes, so it's cool to be a part of."
One such women's sports star is Brady's niece, UCLA softball player Maya Brady.
The reigning Pac-12 Player of the Year, she is also a two-time NFCA First Team All-American and the 2023 Pac-12 Batting Champion.
As for the Aces, their focus will turn to Game 2 on Wednesday, October 11, before heading for the Barclays Center on Sunday, October 15.
And Brady clearly enjoyed his WNBA welcome, posting on his Instagram Story after the win: "1 down! Don't let up @lvaces!," adding: "Huuuuge game @j.young5."
Jackie Young finished the game with 26 points, five rebounds, and four assists.
Plum also racked up 26 points, along with five rebounds and one assist.
