A Steph Curry clutch masterclass has guided the Golden State Warriors to a pulsating win over rivals the Milwaukee Bucks in the second of two overtime NBA games on Sunday (AEDT).
In a breathtaking contest between the past two NBA champions, Curry scored 20 of his team’s last 25 points of the game to inspire the Warriors to a 125-116 win at Chase Centre over the Bucks, who were without superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo due to his sore right hand.
Curry, the two-time MVP, finished with 36 points – 22 of them came across the fourth period and overtime – from 43 minutes.

With the Warriors down by eight points with just over two minutes left in the fourth quarter, Curry took over on his home floor. He hit two three-pointers, followed by a fast break lay-up to tie the game.
After Bucks Jrue Holiday made a 30-foot step-back jumper in the final minute, Curry responded with his own three-pointer, followed by a stunning block of Holiday in the paint on a drive to the hoop to ensure scores were tied at 111-111 at the end of regulation.

“More Curry magic,” ABC commentator Mike Breen said.
Curry then hit three field goals, including a long-range 30-foot three-pointer then a stunning driving lay-up as give the Warriors went up by seven points.
The 34-year-old then hit two clutch free throws to hand the Warriors a nine-point win. Overall he made eight of 11 shots from the floor in the fourth quarter and overtime, and sank four of seven from behind the arc.

It was his first victory in four tries since returning from a left leg injury.
“Steph Curry pulled off a tremendous game-saving blocked shot to end regulation and then has been absolutely masterful in this overtime period,” former NBA coach Jeff Van Gundy told ABC.
The victory extended Golden State’s home winning streak to seven, while the Buck’s nine-game road winning streak ended.
Asked how he was feeling after his 43-minute performance, a visibly worn-down Curry told ABC: “I’m great … just getting old.

“It felt like playoffs type energy and atmosphere. I know they were missing Giannis but we’ve been searching for a long time to try and figure out how to perform and execute down the stretch in a game like this.
“We just played smart basketball. I think we only had one or two turnovers where we gifted them easy possession. If we can get easy shots and good shots so we can set up our defence … that’s a great way to win.”
