Oregon high school basketball playoffs | Barlow edges Mountainside 73-72 in double-OT to advance to 6A boys semifinals – KGW.com

PORTLAND, Ore. — The Oregon state high school basketball playoffs have entered the closing stretch with championship games set for Saturday. Here’s a look at what happened in the 6A boys quarterfinals on Thursday.
All games played at Chiles Center at the University of Portland
West Linn 49, Central Catholic 45: No. 1 seed West Linn overcame a cold-shooting afternoon to hold off No. 9 seed Central Catholic, 49-45, and advance to the semifinals. The Lions missed 29 of their 46 shots, including 14 of 18 from the 3-point line, but made 11 of 15 from the free-throw line. West Linn was led by Adrian Mosley, who scored 21 points, and University of Oregon commit Jackson Shelstad, who added 17 points and five rebounds. The Lions trailed by six in the second quarter and two at halftime, but outscored Central Catholic 28-22 in the second half. Central Catholic was paced by Isaac Carr, who had 16 points and five rebounds, Zamir Paschal, who scored 10 points, and Marley Zeller, who had eight points and seven rebounds.
Lincoln 60, Gresham 59: No. 4 seed Lincoln held off a furious rally by No. 5 seed Gresham to advance to the semifinals. The Cardinals led by 10 with 2:20 left, but RJ Alexander hit two 3-pointers and when Scotty Riddle hit a 3 with 15 seconds left, Gresham had pulled to within one, 60-59. Moroni Seely-Roberts missed a free throw for Lincoln with three seconds left, giving Gresham one more chance at the win, but a 3-pointer by Esyah Pippa-White missed at the buzzer and Lincoln held on for the win. Seely-Roberts led Lincoln with 24 points and 13 rebounds, Malachi Seely Roberts had 18 points and Graham Eikenberry nearly had a double-double with 10 points and nine rebounds. Alexander and Pippa-White both scored 17 points to lead Gresham and Ulises Gutierrez-Gusman had 11 points and six rebounds.
Tualatin 63, Beaverton 54: Josiah Lake scored 28 points to lead No. 3 Tualatin to a win against No. 6 Beaverton, earning the Timberwolves a spot in the semifinals. Lake shot 7 for 11 from the field, including 3 for 6 from the 3-point line. He also made 11 of 12 free throws. Jaden Steppe added 18 points and Jayden Fortier grabbed 10 rebounds for Tualatin. Brady Rice led Beaverton with 10 points and seven rebounds, Max Elmgren added 12 points and Jalen Childs had 11. Tualatin had a big advantage at the free-throw line, making 21 of 29 attempts. Beaverton made 9 of 12 free throws.
Barlow 73, Mountainside 72, 2OT: Jalen Atkins had 31 points and seven steals as No. 2 Barlow rallied in the fourth quarter to force overtime before prevailing in the second extra period to beat No. 7 Mountainside. Barlow will face 3 seed Tualatin in a Friday semifinal. Mason Bierbrauer had 16 points and eight rebounds and Jahvari Martino added another 16 points for the Bruins. Mountainside outscored Barlow 16-8 in the third quarter to take a 44-39 lead going into the fourth quarter and then scored the first points of the fourth to take a seven-point lead. Barlow rallied and took a three-point lead with 21 seconds left. But Mountainside’s Jaylin Ormond hit a free throw with 20 seconds left and then tied the game with a jumper with 10 seconds to go, sending the game to overtime. In the first overtime, Mountainside’s Blake Thune hit a 3-pointer with six seconds left to tie the game 64-64. In the second overtime, after Bierbrauer hit a free throw to put Barlow up 73-70 with 16 seconds left, Mountainside missed two 3-point attempts and despite a last-second score by Ormond, couldn’t close the gap as Barlow escaped with the one-point win. Mountainside was led by a spectacular performance from Brayden Boe, who had 35 points, eight rebounds and eight assists. Ormond finished with 13 points and 16 rebounds and Thune scored 13 points for the Mavericks.
