Showcasing his two-way game, Anthony Edwards did a little bit of everything in USA’s 99-72 victory over New Zealand in the World Cup on Saturday.
Edwards filled up the stat sheet with 14 points (2nd highest on Team USA), a game-high seven rebounds, three assists and a steal in just under 24 minutes of action. He went 5-for-10 from the field and got to the line seven times (FT: 4-7).
This was the first win of the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 for Team USA. Edwards and Team USA’s next First Round game is a matchup against Greece on Monday at 7:40 AM. You can watch the game on ESPN2 or stream it on ESPN+.

Taking place from Aug. 25 through Sept. 10, the FIBA Basketball World Cup is essentially a qualification tournament for the 2024 Paris Olympics. Team USA has to finish in the top 2 in the America region to qualify for an Olympic berth.
