In a recent segment on WNBA Hoop Streams, Christine Williams discussed this very week of chaos in the WNBA
A’ja Wilson took a blow to the face from Jonquel Jones’ elbow in the second quarter. She said she was okay but went on to shoot 2 for 14 after that,” said Williams, recounting the incident that took place during the Las Vegas Aces game against the New York Liberty. “In the Wings’ loss to the Sky, Arike Ogunbowale was ejected after she was fouled hard and her momentum carried her toward an official.”

Reporting this particular altercation, Christine Williams said, “Sky Wings game also saw a dust up between Odessey Sims and Sky guard, Dana Evans that resulted in technical fouls. Then Chicago’s Ruthy Hebard left the bench during the Evans-Sims skermish and was ejected too. The officials ended up calling 54 fouls, the most in any WNBA game this season“.
Then came yet another major tussle between Layshia Clarendon of the Los Angeles Sparks and Brittney Sykes of the Washington Mystics. While trying to foul Clarendon, Sykes grabbed the 5’9 guard who retaliated by taking Sykes down with her. This led to an ugly brawl that ended up earning both players ejections.
