The Indiana Fever waived Taylor Mikesell, the team announced Wednesday.
Mikesell, a guard out of Ohio State, was drafted with the first pick of the second round (13th overall) by the Fever in April’s 2023 WNBA Draft. She is Indiana’s latest player to be waived since the Fever has to get down to 12 before the season opener Friday against Connecticut at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
Mikesell is the Fever’s fifth camp cut, having already parted ways with forwards Emily Engstler, LaDazhia Williams, and guards Destanni Henderson and Renina Davis. Before finishing her college career at Ohio State, Mikesell had stops at Maryland and Oregon.
She was one of college basketball’s most prolific shooters in the last two seasons.
