NBA news: The Golden State Warriors sent shockwaves across the league when they decided to pull the trigger on a blockbuster trade deal for Chris Paul. In order to get CP3 to the Bay Area, the Dubs had to part ways with Jordan Poole, who has now taken his talents to the Washington Wizards.
Warriors talisman Stephen Curry has now opened up about his true feelings on this massive deal as he looks forward to what Golden State can bring to the table this coming season.

Jordan Poole was supposed to be Steph’s heir apparent. The Warriors made this abundantly clear when they gave him a massive contract extension last summer worth $140 million for four years. Well, this is obviously not the case now.
Curry admits that it was a tough blow losing Poole. However, he’s also excited about the team’s new dynamic now that Chris Paul is in the mix:

“It’s all about adjusting to what’s the reality, right? Like I hate that we lost [Jordan Poole]. I hate that we didn’t achieve our potential last year and every team has to find a way to get better, so the changes were made,” Curry said on a recent episode of the Dubs Talk podcast, via Erin Walsh of Bleacher Report.

“But I like where we are in the sense of the pieces fitting and having a lot of different looks from a rotation standpoint. We’re a little bit more mature now in the sense of experience, and I think that’s the pattern in the NBA of what affects winning.”

Curry’s comments about the Warriors being more mature now is quite intriguing. Obviously, getting a tenured veteran in CP3 is a huge bonus given how much experience the point god has under his belt. They also got a lot older, though.
Then again, you also have to note that there were questions about Poole’s maturity level. Did Curry just inadvertently confirm these issues with his recent revelation?

NBA News: Former Bucks Champ Compares Stephen Curry, Giannis Antetokounmpo’s Leadership

While their games might be totally different, Steph Curry still shares some similarities with Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo. For one, both stand as the talisman of their respective teams, albeit having completely different leadership styles.
Former Bucks and Warriors guard Donte DiVincenzo previously shed some light on the major difference between the pair:

“They’re both very powerful leaders, and I think the word powerful is completely different,” DiVincenzo said earlier this year on a podcast (h/t Angeline Martin of NBC Sports). “Giannis on the court will run through a brick wall and can lead by example.

“When Steph talks, it’s very impactful. He also leads by example. He’s just a great human being, both are, but are just totally different personalities.”

DiVincenzo is lucky to have had the opportunity to play with both Curry and Giannis. Donte obviously holds both former teammates in very high regard — and rightfully so.
