We are at the beginning of another March Madness, with the week devoted to conference tournaments across the country ahead of Selection Sunday and the beginning of the men’s tournament.
The tourney will include 32 conference champions that have earned automatic bids and 36 at-large teams.
Two games scheduled Tuesday evening will feature teams either looking to make the tournament or to grab as high a seed as possible.
In the Horizon League, the Northern Kentucky Norse (21-12, 14-6 league record) will play Cleveland State Vikings (21-12, 14-6) in a 7 p.m. Eastern game, with the winner capturing not only the championship but an automatic bid into the tournament. ESPN will air the game, which will be live-streamed on fubo TV (FREE 7-day trial) and Sling TV (half-off discount for the first month).
Then, at 9 o’clock, the West Coast Conference final will pit the No. 9 Gonzaga Bulldogs (27-5, 14-2 league record) vs. the No. 16 St. Mary’s Gaels (26-6, 14-2), again with the winner advancing to the tournament. It’s the same TV setup: ESPN will carry the game and fubo TV (FREE 7-day trial) and Sling TV (half-off discount for the first month) will live-stream it.
In the Horizon League final, two of Cleveland State’s offense leaders are Tristan Enaruna (averaging 15.6 points and 6.7 rebounds) and Tujautae Williams (12.3 points, 6.2 rebounds and 1.5 steals over the past 10 games). Northern Kentucky is led by Marques Warrick (averaging 19.1 points, 2.3 rebounds and 2.8 assists) and Sam Vinson (averaging 12.5 points, 3.4 assists and 2.1 steals over the past 10 games).
Both teams enter play 7-3 over their last 10 games, with Cleveland State averaging 75.9 points and shooting 45.5% from the field and Northern Kentucky averaging 69.9 points and shooting 44.2% from the field during that span.
In the second game, Gonzaga and St. Mary’s split their two regular-season meetings. In fact, Gonzaga has won eight games in a row, with its last loss at St. Mary’s. This is familiar territory for the Zags, who are in conference championship game for the 26th time in a row. They have won this event 20 times.

Anton Watson scored 20 points and Drew Timme had 17 for Gonzaga in Monday night’s win over San Francisco, earning them a spot in the championship game. Timme increased his total to 2,192 points and moved within five of passing Frank Burgess for Gonzaga’s career record. A win tonight could earn the Zags as high as a No. 2 seed in the NCAA Tournament.
St. Mary’s advanced Monday with a 76-69 win over BYU, building a 37-20 lead by halftime and cruising from there. Alex Ducas led with 23 points and Aidan Mahaney added 18.
Logan Johnson leads the Gaels offensively, averaging 14.7 points and 3.7 assists, while Mahaney is averaging 14.6 points and 2.3 rebounds. Ducas is the team’s third double-digit scorer.
