No. 1 Purdue basketball visits No. 22 Indiana (USA TODAY Coaches poll) on Saturday, the first matchup of these rivals when both were ranked since 2016.
This is Purdue’s first game against IU while ranked No. 1.
IU is 6-0 against Purdue as a top-ranked team, most recently in 2013. The Hoosiers also beat the Boilermakers as a No. 1 team in 1993, and twice each in 1976 and ’75. Purdue was ranked in two of those six games.
The teams split their 2022 meetings, each team narrowly winning at home. Before that, Purdue won 9 straight matchups. Purdue leads the series 125-90; IU is 64-43 in Bloomington, while Purdue is 82-26 in West Lafayette.
