PHILADELPHIA – SEPT. 13, 2023 – Philadelphia 76ers President of Basketball Operations Daryl Morey announced today that the team has signed Danny Green. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Green, a 14-year NBA veteran and three-time NBA champion, returns to Philadelphia after spending two seasons with the 76ers from 2020-22. He produced 7.8 points on 40.5% shooting, 3.2 rebounds, 1.4 assists, and 1.2 steals in 131 games (97 starts), while ranking ninth on the franchise’s all-time list with a 39.5% three-point shooting mark.
In his initial stint with Philadelphia, Green matched the franchise record while setting a career high with nine threes against Miami on Jan. 12, 2021, one of seven occasions in which he made at least five three-pointers as a 76er.
In his return to the 76ers, Green also reunites with 76ers Head Coach Nick Nurse, who served as the veteran’s head coach during the 2019 championship season in Toronto. The New York native connected on a career-high 198 three-pointers that season, one of 11 in which he’s drained at least 100 triples.
Originally selected by Cleveland with the 46th pick of the 2009 NBA Draft, Green has produced 8.7 points on 42.1% shooting (40.0% 3-PT), 3.4 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 1.0 steal, and 25.2 minutes across 830 career games (709 starts) with the Cavaliers, San Antonio, Toronto, the Los Angeles Lakers, Philadelphia, and Memphis. He is one of four players in league history to win NBA titles with three different franchises, joining Robert Horry, LeBron James, and John Salley.
