Fans of the Boston Celtics will soon get to see their revamped team in action with their first preseason game against the Philadelphia 76ersNBA Rumors: Boston makes a surprising decision regarding a disgruntled guard less than two weeks away. However, a recent report suggests that not every member of the Celtics is happy entering the 2023–24 season.
Guard Malcolm Brogdon is reportedly unhappy with the team and that was rumored to possibly affect his status with Boston. Brogdon’s dissatisfaction with the Celtics stems from their handling of his injury and then trying to trade him to the LA Clippers. That trade failed after the Clippers were unable to evaluate his injury in time to complete the deal. Now Brogdon is left playing for the Celtics, and according to the Boston Globes’ Adam Himmelsbach, they are unlikely to trade him.

That may or may not come as a surprise considering that Boston will need Brogdon after trading long-time Celtic Marcus Smart to the Memphis Grizzlies. That was part of a three-team deal with the Washington Wizards, which only happened after the failed Brogdon deal. Players almost get traded more often than many think, and some continue playing for the same team for years.
So Brodgon’s being unhappy doesn’t necessarily mean that he will demand to be moved, and the Celtics don’t appear interested in dealing him at this time. Things can obviously change, especially if he struggles next season or a deal presents itself to Boston. Barring that, Brogdon will likely remain a Celtic through next season.
While his injury may still be cause for concern, he is expected to be ready for the start of the season. Boston will need all hands on deck if they want to finally win a championship, and their offseason moves have put them in a position to do so.

Even still, the Celtics have had a lot of regular-season success in recent years, only to flame out in the postseason. Now that they appear to be done making moves, all that is left to do is wait and see.
