NBA Trade Rumors: Bucks Send Jrue Holiday to Lakers – Wisconsin Sports Heroics
NBA mock trades have been flying this offseason for the Bucks and Jrue Holiday. Holiday will have a player option after the 2023-2024 season, and it will be interesting to see what his future holds in Milwaukee.
James Piercey of nbaanalysis.net proposed a trade that Milwaukee and the Los Angeles Lakers should consider. It would send Jrue Holiday to Los Angeles for guard D’Angelo Russell, forward Rui Hachimura, forward/center Jarred Vanderbilt, and a 2029 first-round pick from the Los Angeles Lakers.
This would be an interesting trade for both parties. The Lakers feel like they are in win-now mode, and Holiday would be the perfect number three option for Lebron James and Anthony Davis. That would be a major upgrade at the point guard position for them after reaching the Western Conference Finals a season ago before getting swept against the Denver Nuggets.
This NBA trade would benefit the Bucks because they would get Younger From Jrue Holiday
One of the things that Milwaukee has been missing on its roster lately is young players who can contribute. This trade would make them younger instantly. D’Angelo Russell is 27 years old, Rui Hachimura is 25 years old, and Jarred Vanderbilt is 24 years old.
Russell also has a player option after the 2023-2024 season, just like Jrue Holiday, but his future feels unknown with this basketball team. D’Angelo Russell, a season ago, played for the Los Angeles Lakers and the Minnesota Timberwolves. He averaged 17.8 PPG, 3.0 RPG, and 6.2 APG and also shot 46.9% from the field.
Hachimura played for the Washington Wizards and Los Angeles last season. He averaged 11.2 PPG, 4.5 RPG, 0.9 APG, and shot 48.6% from the field.
Vanderbilt played for the Utah Jazz and the Lakers a season ago in the NBA. He averaged 7.9 PPG, 7.5 RPG, 2.4 APG, and shot 54.8% from the field.
All three of these players would be able to contribute to the Bucks. Jrue Holiday is one of those players that they would have to keep in order to keep Giannis Antetokounmpo happy for the long run. However, this trade would be able to potentially keep the championship window open longer for Milwaukee instead of closing quicker with the older team that they have with Khris Middleton and Brook Lopez as well.
