The Warriors finished the 2022-23 regular season with a 44-38 record, good enough for sixth place in the Western Conference. As the No. 6 seed, the Dubs will take on the third-seeded Sacramento Kings in the first round of the 2023 NBA Playoffs.
The 2022 NBA Champion Golden State Warriors will open their First Round playoff series against the Sacramento Kings on Saturday, April 15 at 5:30 p.m. at Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, the league announced. The game will air on ABC and can be heard locally on the Warriors’ flagship radio station, 95.7 The Game. The Warriors and Kings met four times during the regular season, with the Warriors winning three matchups. Golden State faced Sacramento three times in their first 13 games of the season, before their final meeting on April 7, a crucial 119-97 Warriors victory.
Stephen Curry averaged 33.0 points in four games against Sacramento this season. Andrew Wiggins added 25.0 points and 6.3 rebounds per game in three meetings against the Kings, while Kevon Looney recorded 11.8 rebounds per game. For the Kings, De’Aaron Fox averaged a team-high 25.3 points and 8.0 assists per game against the Warriors. Domantas Sabonis recorded 21.3 points and 16.7 rebounds in three games against the Warriors this season.
