NBA Rumors: Anthony Edwards will inevitably ask out of Minnesota? – Sir Charles in Charge

NBA Rumors: Is Anthony Edwards one of the next superstars that will inevitably ask out of his current situation?
The Minnesota Timberwolves proved they were all-in on Anthony Edwards this past offseason when they gave him a five-year max extension. However, now that he has his money, you can’t help but wonder if Edwards is considered all-in on the Timberwolves. Over the course of the offseason, since Edwards signed his extension with the Wolves, there have been some interesting moments that could leave one to believe that he could be a player who decides to leave Minnesota sooner rather than later.
The first may seem highly innocent. While playing for Erik Spoelstra and Team USA in the FIBA World Cup, Edwards was interviewed and praised Miami Heat culture. Edwards may have been just over-complimentary to Spo and his coaching style. That could be what this clip was more about.
However, when you consider many relationships that have led to teaming up have started and begun on these Team USA trips, you can’t help but keep an eye on these comments and see if they lead to anything in the next couple of years. Especially if the Wolves can’t turn things around in the not-so-distant future.
But that’s not all. Interestingly enough, current NBA Philadelphia 76ers guard Patrick Beverley kind of added to that speculation with comments on a recent podcast:
Pat Bev expects Ant to eventually leave Minnesota
“He will get out of Minnesota. That's just what happens. That's no disrespect to Minny. With that personality, he can change the world with basketball. He is the type of player that you need to see.”pic.twitter.com/aEAzJkrrpC

These are some interesting comments from an active NBA palyer and one that has even spent time with the Timberwolves. Again, this is not about throwing the Wolves under the bus and there may not be much they can do about it. Pat Bev seems to think that this is a natural progression for superstars with the capabilities of Edwards.
The big question is whether or not Edwards thinks that he needs to be in a big city to thrive. There’s no evidence of that and he hasn’t said that. However, he seems like a candidate to possibly force his way out to get to a bigger city that could give him a bigger spotlight.
But a lot of that has to do with how the Wolves look over the next couple of seasons. Can they surround him with a strong supporting cast? Will something click with Karl-Anthony Towns, who hasn’t always played up to his capabilities as a star with the Wolves?
I don’t think anything like this is imminent. From all indications, Edwards seems content with the Wolves. The question is, will that change at any point? That’s the big question. If nothing else, Edwards is a rising star to keep a close eye on over the next couple of seasons.
