Every college basketball player yearns for their opportunity at ultimate success, for their chance to have a shining moment. Not everyone’s ultimate dream comes true, but there are still thousands of success stories across the nation. We celebrate the players who make the big shots or put up the amazing numbers for the best programs, but sometimes those other players slip through the cracks, especially of the national attention.
This major prospect has been identifying all kinds of great players. We’ve been taking a look at the best players of the last ten seasons from each conference, though this season has finally come to an end. Today we’re looking closely at the 32nd and final conference. After years of practice and hard work, these players established themselves in this game. After months of research, we’ve identified a full 800 names, finishing off with the WCC today.
Obviously, you can’t talk about WCC Basketball without mentioning Gonzaga, and you’ll surely see plenty of Bulldogs on today’s list. Former Gonzaga players make up nearly half the names today, but we won’t let that overshadow some of the other talents in the conference. Programs like BYU and Saint Mary’s have always had solid teams, while San Francisco and Santa Clara have had moments of excellence at times this past decade.
For the final time we offer a simple explanation at how this series works. We’re only considering players who have played since 2013, though those whose careers started before then can still be considered as long as they played and were noteworthy after that cutoff point. The same holds true for players who transferred into or out of the WCC; they can certainly be considered and exclusive. Let’s finish off this series strong as focus in on a lot of elite names from Gonzaga and the other schools in this league.
