NBA Rumors: James Harden Finally Joins Clippers in Wild 3-Team … – Wisconsin Sports Heroics

NBA rumors: At this point, it has become abundantly clear that the Philadelphia 76ers and the Los Angeles Clippers are struggling to find common ground with regard to a blockbuster trade deal for James Harden. The former NBA MVP has already declared his wish to play in LA, but at this point, it is clear that something is holding up the deal.

Lee Tran of Fadeaway World has proposed a solution to this looming trade saga. With the Clippers and Sixers having trouble figuring things out on their own, Tran believes that a third team needs to be involved. This will come in the form of the Utah Jazz.

For starters, the Clippers finally get James Harden in this blockbuster deal that will also require them to part ways with a a handful of players and a future first-round pick. However, along with Harden, LA will also acquire the services of Collin Sexton from the Jazz. The Clippers form their James Harden-Paul George-Kawhi Leonard Big 3, while also adding a quality backup (or starting?) point guard in Collin Sexton.

NBA Rumors: Sixers Land All-Star Big Man in Exchange for James Harden

The Sixers are obviously demanding a major haul in exchange for Harden, which is probably why they still haven’t agreed to a deal with the Clippers. In Tran’s sensational trade scenario, Philly gets Lauri Markkanen from the Jazz and Robert Covington form the Clippers.
Losing Harden is an undeniably massive blow, but it is clear that the former league MVP no longer wants to remain in Philadelphia.  The addition of Markkanen won’t set the Sixers’ title hopes back; in fact, pairing the All-Star forward with Joel Embiid in the frontcourt might actually accelerate their quest for that elusive championship.

NBA Rumors: Jazz Embrace Full Rebuild

The Utah Jazz blew it all up last summer when they decided to part ways with Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert. However, the surprise emergence of Lauri Markkanen last season put their full rebuild — perhaps unexpectedly — on hold.
In this proposed three-team trade the Jazz get Norman Powell, Marcus Morris Sr., Amir Coffey, Kobe Brown, Brandon Boston Jr., 2030 First-Round Pick (LAC), 2030 First-Round Pick (PHI), 2029 First-Round Pick Swap (PHI favoring UTA). The mix of expiring contracts and future assets will allow Utah to capitalize on the trade hauls they received from the Mitchell and Gobert deals.
They’re not going to be a very good team in 2023-24 and they will likely be in contention for a lottery pick for next year’s draft, but it shouldn’t be very long before a new-look Jazz side re-emerges as a legitimate threat in the Western Conference.
