Indiana Basketball Transfer Portal Big Board: April 7, 2023 – Inside the Hall

Transfer portal recruiting is still in full swing and it’s time to update our transfer portal big board.
Indiana has already secured a commitment from Ball State big man Payton Sparks, but has four scholarships available for next season.
Here’s a current look at the transfer portal names you need to know:
2022-23 stats: 6.6 points, 4.1 rebounds, 1.3 blocks in 15.8 minutes per game
Scouting video:
Notes: A five-star prospect in the 2022 class, Ware is leaving Oregon after one season and is a priority target for the Indiana staff. He wrapped up an official visit to Indiana on Friday and is scheduled to visit Alabama this weekend. (Update: The visit to Alabama has been canceled.) The 7-foot center is originally from North Little Rock, Arkansas.

2022-23 stats: 18.8 points, 8.5 rebounds, 1.8 steals, 1.6 assists and 1.1 blocks in 31.4 minutes per game

Notes: The 6-foot-6 senior is a priority target for the Hoosiers and is currently on an official visit in Bloomington.

Notes: One of the best available scorers and shooters in the portal, the 6-foot-6 Knecht shot 38.1 percent on 3s last season. Indiana recently conducted a Zoom visit with Knecht and hopes to host him for a campus visit soon.

Notes: Indiana visited Timberlake in person prior to the dead period for recruiting, but has a lot of competition in his recruitment. Timberlake, a 6-foot-4 guard, is considered one of the best available shooters in the country. Thus far, Timberlake has visited UNC and is scheduled to visit Kansas and UConn. An IU visit has not been scheduled.

Notes: Indiana completed a Zoom visit with Shedrick recently and is still hoping to get him on campus for a visit. The 6-foot-11 center is an elite shot blocker and is looking for a bigger role at his next stop after falling out of favor late last season with Tony Bennett.

Notes: A career 35.2 percent 3-point shooter, Ryan is a new name to know on the radar in IU’s transfer portal efforts. There has been contact with Ryan as the Hoosier staff looks for perimeter shooting help.

Notes: Handlogten is a solid post scorer who shot 66.2 percent from the field as a freshman for the Thundering Herd. His top eight schools, in no particular order, are NC State, Indiana, Florida, Auburn, Georgia, Missouri, Virginia and Arkansas.

Notes: DeLoach is an intriguing prospect because of size and ability to score at the rim. The 6-foot-9, 215-pound forward is a native of Savannah, Georgia. He has Indiana among the six schools he’s considering and has a visit scheduled for April 14.
