ASUN Unveils 2023-2024 Men's Basketball Schedule – Kennesaw State Athletics
7/6/2023 2:00:00 PM
ATLANTA – The 2023-24 conference slate for the Kennesaw State men’s basketball team was released by the ASUN Conference Thursday.
The schedule opens for the defending champions on Jan. 6, 2024 at home versus a team the Owls saw three times last year, Queens (N.C.). That game signifies a three-game conference homestand as they will host two Florida schools in Stetson (Jan. 10) and FGCU (Jan. 12).
The rumble with the Florida schools continues away from the Convo with the Owls opening up the road schedule against North Florida (Jan. 18). KSU opens up with two teams (Queens and UNF) that took down the Owls in regular season matchups last year after only surrendering three ASUN losses. Jacksonville will then get a crack at the Owls (Jan. 20) at Historic Swisher Gymnasium.
Late January has quick home and away stands as the Owls return to Kennesaw to play North Alabama (Jan. 24). All six opening opponents were teams that made it to ASUN Championship play last season. They then will trek all the way to Conway, Ark. to battle Central Arkansas (Jan. 27).
Both Kentucky teams will be welcomed to the Peach State with the 2021-22 ASUN Champion Bellarmine Knights (Feb. 1) and Eastern Kentucky (Feb. 3) coming to town.
Then comes the Tennessee trip with KSU facing second-year ASUN member Austin Peay (Feb. 8) and Lipscomb (Feb. 10). The Owls got the better of both squads in every meeting last year, including defeating the Bisons in the ASUN Championship semifinals.
The final home stand takes place against Jacksonville (Feb. 14) and North Florida (Feb. 16)
Three games on the road will wrap up the ASUN regular season ledger. They will begin down south and work up north starting with FGCU (Feb. 22), then heading to Stetson (Feb. 24), before concluding in Charlotte, N.C. (Mar. 1) versus Queens.
The Owls went 15-3 in ASUN play a season ago, more than doubling their conference win total from the previous season and marked the most single-season ASUN wins for the Owls in program history.
KSU will put their title on the line after defeating the now-departed Liberty Flames to claim the 2022-23 ASUN championship. They will do so with new leadership as head coach Antoine Pettway enters his first season under the Owls shield.
2023-24 marks the final season for Kennesaw State in the ASUN before moving to Conference USA on July 1, 2024.
