It will be spread across three distinct events
This year, the NBA Summer League will be spread across three distinct events, starting with the California Classic on Saturday, July 6. Eight teams, including two from the Kings and the Chinese national team, will compete in San Francisco and Sacramento.
Following this, the Salt Lake City Summer League will feature a round-robin competition among four teams, starting on Monday, July 8. Yet, the highlight of the summer, the Las Vegas Summer League, which includes all 30 NBA teams, begins on Friday, July 12.
The Summer League promises a lot of excitement with several high-profile debuts. Fans will have the chance to see the Atlanta Hawks’ Zaccharie Risacher and the Washington Wizards’ Alex Sarr, the top two picks from the recent NBA Draft, in action for the first time.
Additionally, San Antonio’s Stephon Castle and Portland’s Donovan Clingan, who recently won an NCAA title with UConn, will be stepping onto the NBA stage. Bronny James, who was picked in the second round by the Los Angeles Lakers, has kicked off his professional career in the California Classic and continue in the Las Vegas Summer League.
“I’m … trying to get my name out for myself,” Bronny said. “I just want to come in and get my work in and get better every day. I never really had a thought of me going to play with my dad. That’s always there to take part of, but it wasn’t a main focus of mine.”
Fans can follow three main events NBA Summer League 2024, the California Classic from July 6-7 and 9-10, the Salt Lake City Summer League from July 8-10 and the Las Vegas Summer League from July 12-22, on various TV channels. Games will be broadcast on ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, and NBA TV.
