At one point in the NCAA Basketball offseason, the Tennessee Volunteers were viewed as a top winner of the transfer portal. In a span of around 10 days, they landed three of the top-scoring transfers available. One of them was Chris Ledlum, who was a star for Harvard this past season in his lone year as a full-time starter.
Ledlum, a former four-star prospect out of high school, led the Crimson with 18.8 ppg and 8.5 rpg this past season, shooting 47% from the field and 29% from three-point range. That included a 30-point effort against Loyola-Chicago, as well as a career-high 35 points, 13 rebounds, and six assists versus Cornell.
The All-Ivy League forward was set to be a key piece for Tennessee but out of nowhere, has decided to enter the NCAA Basketball transfer portal once again as a grad transfer. With Jahvon Quinerly now committed to Memphis, Ledlum becomes the biggest name in the portal and one that can have an impact anywhere.
The native of Brooklyn, New York originally picked Tennessee over St. John’s and Indiana in the first go-around. Those two teams have added other pieces but could they still be interested in trying to land Ledlum again? It’s a dilemma for them and others that have filled out their perspective rosters right now.
There are still some programs with room and could use a combo forward that can both score and rebound at a high level. Based on the current rosters, here’s a list of options I think could be in the running for Ledlum.
