The highly anticipated 2024 WNBA All-Star Roster was announced on ESPN’s WNBA Countdown before the Indiana Fever vs. Las Vegas Aces game. The sold out All-Star game, airing live from Phoenix on Saturday, July 20, at 5:30 p.m. PT/8:30 p.m. ET on ABC, promises an exciting showdown between Team USA and Team WNBA. The matchup honors the league’s top players and serves as a send-off for Team USA as they rally for Gold in the upcoming Paris Olympics.

Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese have firmly secured their positions as WNBA All-Stars and both are frontrunners for the prestigious 2024 Rookie of the Year award. Angel Reese broke her own record on July 2 by recording her 11th consecutive double-double against the Atlanta dream. On June 30 against the Minnesota Lynx, Reese surpassed Candace Parker’s previous WNBA record of 9 consecutive double-doubles set in 2015 with the Los Angeles Sparks. In the latest CBS Sports WNBA Rookie Rankings, Reese currently holds a slight edge over Clark after breaking the double-double record.
Clark, known for her logo 3’s and playmaking abilities, averages 16.2 points per game and ranks 3rd overall in the league in assists with 6.9 per game. On Sunday, Clark came up one rebound shy of a triple-double, which would have been the WNBA’s first rookie triple-double in league history.
Directly comparing Clark and Reese is a challenging task, as they play different positions and roles on their teams. Both have been instrumental to their teams’ success and have contributed to expanding the league’s fanbase. With more than half the season remaining, the competition between Clark and Reese is set to intensify, giving fans and analysts many opportunities to see who will make the most lasting impact on the league by season’s end. Interestingly, Reese and Clark will be teammates on Team WNBA at the All-Star game.

Center A’ja Wilson returns to the All-Star list. A’ja leads the league with an impressive 26.9 points per game, ranks second in rebounds per game with 11.1 (just behind Angel Reese’s 11.4), and tops the list with 2.3 blocks per game. As of June 21, A’ja also led in fan votes with 217,773.
Aliyah Boston, of the Indiana Fever, secured her second All-Star selection in just her second season, following her recognition as the 2023 Rookie of the Year. She has maintained an average of 8 points and 10.6 rebounds per game over her last seven games and currently holds the 10th position in the WNBA for rebounding this season, averaging 8.3 rebounds per game.
