The WNBA is ready for Caitlin Clark mania.
While all of the focus right now is on Clark’s collegiate record chases and Iowa’s hunt for a national championship, the WNBA calendar offers only a minimal break between the end of the Hawkeyes’ season and the start of the 22-year-old’s professional career.
Clark’s decision to declare for the WNBA Draft and forgo her final year of eligibility at Iowa sent shockwaves throughout the league, even if the move was largely expected. No team might be more thrilled than the Indiana Fever, who hold the No. 1 overall pick after winning December’s draft lottery.
Clark’s entrance is also good news for teams picking directly after the Fever, as the talent pool became deeper as soon as she made her decision.
Here’s what you need to know about the 2024 WNBA Draft, including the date, order and projected top picks.

The WNBA Draft will be held on Monday, April 15 at the Brooklyn Academy of Music. It will be the first draft held in front of fans since 2016.
The draft will take place less than a month before the 2024 WNBA regular season begins on May 14.
The 2024 WNBA Draft is set to start at 7:30 p.m. ET on Monday, April 15.
The 2024 WNBA Draft will consist of 36 picks. The Indiana Fever secured the No. 1 overall pick in December’s draft lottery after finishing 13-27 in 2023.
The Fever also selected first overall in 2023, drafting South Carolina star Aliyah Boston after a dismal 5-31 season in 2022.
