The NBA is looking into allegations that Oklahoma City Thunder guard Josh Giddey had an inappropriate relationship with a potential minor that emerged via social media, league spokesperson Mike Bass said Friday.
Giddey and coach Mark Daigneault both declined to comment on the allegations earlier Friday.

“I understand the question, obviously,” the 21-year-old Giddey told reporters, adding that he has “no further comment right now.” Pressed further to address the situation, Giddey said: “I get the question, guys. I completely understand you guys want to know about it. Just for right now, I don’t have anything to say.”
Daigneault — asked if he was concerned Giddey was “a potential distraction” to the team — said it was a “personal matter” on which he wouldn’t comment, and that “would be (his) answer to anything related.” On Saturday, Giddey played in the Thunder’s game against the Philadelphia 76ers.
“No change in status from a basketball standpoint,” Daigneault said Saturday when asked about the league’s investigation.
Giddey, the No. 6 pick in the 2021 NBA Draft, is averaging 12.3 points, 5.7 rebounds and 4.5 assists for the 11-4 Thunder.
