McPherson College Men’s and Women’s Home Basketball Games … – McPherson College Athletics

McPHERSON, Kan. — Basketball season is here, Bulldog fans, and Ad Astra Radio will have live coverage for McPherson College Men’s and Women’s home basketball games on 98.9/1540 KMCP.
"We are excited to add McPherson College Sports to 98.9/1540 KMCP’s lineup," Chris Shank, Owner of Ad Astra Radio said. "Ad Astra Radio has two other KCAC Schools we cover exclusively: Bethany and Sterling College, and we’re excited to add the Bulldogs. The schools of the KCAC are an important part of Central Kansas and we love helping to promote them. There’s a lot of positive momentum at McPherson College. We’re excited to be a part of it."
Shank also said when Ad Astra Radio purchased the McPherson stations back in the summer of 2022, one of the company’s goals was to re-establish a great relationship with McPherson College.
"Athletic Director Josh Daume has been great to work with and we know our listeners will enjoy getting the opportunity to follow the Bulldogs on Ad Astra Radio," Shank said. "We take great pride in being your Hometown Radio Stations and adding McPherson College Basketball will help us do that even more."
It has been about six years since McPherson College basketball games were last broadcasted on KMCP.
McPherson Sports Director Lane Gillespie will be the official Voice of the Bulldogs for the basketball season, starting with the Mayor’s Cup game on Nov. 6.
"We’re excited to have Lane Gillespie on-board and have our basketball games back on the air," Josh Daume said. "Lane’s experience along with his enthusiasm for McPherson College basketball will add value to our basketball programs and we look forward to working with Ad Astra moving forward."
Tune in on 98.9/1540 KMCP to catch the Mayor’s Cup game between McPherson College and Central Christian College of Kansas.
Not only will KMCP be covering the home basketball games, but the station will also be celebrating its 75th anniversary in 2024!
98.9/1540 KMCP is McPherson’s News, Sports and Classic Hits featuring the greatest pop, soul and rock N roll from the ’60s to the ’80’s. Weekday mornings feature Mark in the Morning from 6-9AM and Swap Shop from 9-10AM. KMCP is the Voice of the McPherson HS Bullpups and an affiliate for ABC News, Kansas Information Network, Kansas Ag Network and the Kansas City Royals.
