NBA Rumors: Team USA 'Aggressively Pursuing' Former Milwaukee … – Wisconsin Sports Heroics
According to previous reports, Milwaukee Bucks stars Khris Middleton and Brook Lopez have already indicated their desire to take part in Team USA’s redemption run for the 2024 Olympics next summer. This is after the national team finished a disappointing fourth in the recently-concluded FIBA World Cup.
As it turns out, one former Bucks star could be in the Team USA lineup as well.
Ex-Milwaukee Bucks Star Jrue Holiday ‘Aggressively Pursued’ By Team USA
NBA guru Adrian Wojnarowski reports that newly-acquired Boston Celtics guard Jrue Holiday is being eyed by USA Basketball as one of their guards for the upcoming summer Olympics:
“ESPN Sources: USA Basketball is aggressively pursuing Boston Celtics All-Star guard Jrue Holiday to return to Team USA for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris,” Woj wrote in his tweet.

This does not come as a surprise at all. After this summer’s failures in the FIBA World Cup, the national squad is now turning to veterans to lead the way for what could be a second coming of the Redeem Team. Superstars such as Stephen Curry and LeBron James have already been linked heavily to the squad, along with a few other big names around the league.
As for Holiday, he could be reuniting with a couple of his former Milwaukee teammates in Middleton and Lopez in the near future following his offseason trade to Boston.
Jrue Holiday is a Team USA Vet
Should Holiday officially be named to the national team roster for the 2024 Olympics, the five-time All-Defense guard would get a chance to bag his second gold medal for the national team.
The 33-year-old was part of the 2020 squad that went all the way to win the 2020 Olympics tournament in Japan. Holiday played a key role in that tournament, averaging 11.8 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 3.8 assists in 25.7 minutes per contest.
Given how he remains one of the top two-way guards in the league today, it comes as no surprise at all that USA Basketball wants him on the redemption squad.
