Third-ranked Houston and No. 10 Iowa State will battle for first place in the Big 12 when the Cougars host the Cyclones on Monday, Feb. 19.
Iowa State handed Houston its first lost of the season, 57-53, on Jan. 9.
Houston, however, has been on a roll, winning eight of its last nine games and rolling past in-state rival Texas 82-61 on Saturday. L.J. Cryer scored a season-high 26 points, and Jamal Shead had 16 points and 11 rebounds.
The Cougars also knocked off the Longhorns, 76-72, in overtime on Jan. 29
Houston was a No. 1 seed and the third overall team in the NCAA Tournament selection committee’s reveal of the potential top 16 teams on Saturday. Houston is 10-3 in Quad 1 and 2 games.
The Cougars will look to extend their home winning streak to 19 games against the Cyclones.
Iowa State is off to its best start in the Big 12 since winning the conference title in 2001.
Iowa State has also won six of its past seven games and knocked off Texas Tech 82-74 on Saturday. Keshon Gilbert had 24 points and had eight, while Curtis Jones scored 12 points for the Cyclones, who have won all 15 of their home games this season. Tamin Lipsey and Milan Momcilovic each added 10 points.
Iowa State improved to 20-5 in the 9-3 Big 12. The Cyclones have not won or shared the regular-season crown since taking back-to-back titles in 2000 and 2001.

Iowa State vs. Houston will tip off around 7 p.m. ET on Monday, Feb. 19. The game will be played at the Fertitta Center in Houston, Texas.
