IU basketball's game against Kansas will be a stripe out – The Daily Hoosier

With No. 2 Kansas coming to town, Saturday is going to be one of those days at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall.
Adding to the pomp and pageantry, Indiana is bringing back the stripe out concept to the stands for the much anticipated battle with the Jayhawks. Fans are being asked to wear white red or white in alternating sections to create a striping effect that mimics the program’s legendary candy stripe pants.
Indiana first held a stripe out in 2008 when the Hoosiers hosted Michigan State, and they’ve done it multiple times since.
But it has been a while.
To help orchestrate the effort, Indiana has published guidance regarding what color to wear.

Fans going to the game can also check whether they should wear red or white by going here and entering their seats.
The IU students go on winter break beginning Friday, so the Hoosiers won’t enjoy the luxury of the typically boisterous student section.
But Indiana has attempted to accommodate the students who will be in Bloomington for the game.
A special student section is reserved for the Kansas game. The student section will encompass court-level south bleacher seats only (sections 1, 2, and 10). The rest of the normal student section was part of the mini-series package for the games when the students are on break.
Red and white IU t-shirts will be provided at the IU-Kansas game to student fans sitting in the south bleachers. Shirts will be distributed on the bleacher seats according to the stripe out game seating map.
