Let's plug Kristaps Porzingis's Monday numbers into Basketball-Reference and drool a bunch – Posting and Toasting

This kid shouldn’t be doing this.
Kristaps Porzingis has proven to be quite good at this sporting business. Before he was sat upon and injured, the 10-foot-tall Latvian wonder child had himself quite a night against the San Antonio Spurs. How nasty was Zingis Khan? Try 13 points, 14 rebounds, three steals and two blocks — a line that I will heretofore refer to as “a Zinger.”
A Zinger is no easy accomplishment, even for the best frontcourt players. According the Basketball-Reference, only four Knicks had accomplished the feat since 1985-86:

You may notice that Porzingis is quite a bit younger than the others on this list (sorry, Mr. Ewing). In fact, he is the second-youngest player in the past 30 years of NBA history with a Zinger to his credit.

Andris Biedrins! I must admit to be a little bit frightened to see Porzingis’ Latvian forebear on this list. To be fair, though, Biedrins was an excellent player through his first five NBA seasons before completely falling off a cliff.
Here’s a clip of 20-year-old Dwight Howard against the Bobcats which will probably make you feel old as hell:

And here’s a clip of Andre Drummond absolutely dominating the 76ers:

Not only did Kristaps pull off this feat at a young age, he did it in only his fourth NBA game. The only other player to notch a Zinger in the first 10 games of his career: none other than The Admiral.

Speaking of famous Spurs, it should be noted that Porzingis did his damage against a San Antonio frontcourt featuring the likes of LaMarcus Aldridge (multiple All-Star), Kawhi Leonard (Finals MVP, Defensive Player of the Year), David West (former All-Star), Boris Diaw (is Boris Diaw) and Tim Duncan (top 10 in league history). How many players put up a Zinger against the Spurs in the Duncan era?

Hey there, Shawn Marion! You sure did enjoy playing the Spurs, didn’t you?
I honestly don’t even know what to make of this kid anymore. That silky jumper — the reason we all initially fell in love with him — hasn’t really clicked for him, yet he might honestly be the best defender on the Knicks right now. He ranks in the top 20 in the NBA in steals, which seems impossible given the fact that he’s friggin’ eight feet tall. We have not seen a prospect of his caliber at MSG since pre-knee injury Ewing, and it’s not even close, really.
