Girls basketball: See the seeds and schedules for the Section 1 playoffs – The Journal News
Before the ball was tossed aloft for the opening tip of the first game of the 2023 playoffs, Section 1 basketball players already had gained a victory with this year’s semifinals and finals for all classes being moved back to their longtime home, the Westchester County Center in White Plains, following a two-year absence.
With four size divisions in Section 1 girls basketball, that means 16 teams will play at the vaunted arena, starting with the Class B semifinals Feb. 27 and concluding March 5 with the Class AA and Class B finals.
Every team will have, at least in theory, a chance to reach the County Center when action begins this Thursday with Class A and B outbracket games.
But there are favorites, staring with the top seeds, Albertus Magnus in AA, Harrison in A, 19-win Putnam Valley in B and Tuckahoe in C.
