Vanderbilt basketball transfer portal tracker: Commitments, departures – Tennessean

Vanderbilt basketball advanced to the quarterfinals of the NIT for the second straight year in 2023. But after falling to UAB, one game short of the semifinals in Las Vegas, the Commodores now could face an uncertain offseason.
The transfer portal has been open since the day after Selection Sunday, and the Commodores had one departure right off the bat as forward Myles Stute opted to skip the NIT and enter the portal.
In basketball, players are able to enter the transfer portal through May 11. Guard Ezra Manjon and center Quentin Millora-Brown already indicated they plan to return next season, and forward Emmanuel Ansong and center Liam Robbins are out of eligibility. Everyone else will have the next seven weeks to decide on their futures.

Lawrence entered the portal April 24. He should be highly sought after as Vanderbilt’s second-leading scorer in 2022-23 at 13.1 points and 4.4 rebounds per game while shooting 36% from three. He has two years of eligibility remaining and also declared for the NBA Draft while maintaining his college eligibility.
Millora-Brown entered the portal April 5. A reserve center, Millora-Brown stepped into a larger role at times when other bigs got hurt. He averaged 3.5 points and 4.3 rebounds per game in 2022-23 while appearing in 36 of 37 games with 27 starts. He has one year of eligibility remaining.
Destination: The Citadel
Thomas, a reserve shooting guard, entered the portal March 28, according to a report from Rivals. Thomas in 2022-23 averaged 5.8 points per game while shooting 30% from three and 94% from the free-throw line. He appeared in 33 of 37 games with 17 starts.
Destination: Bowling Green
Wright entered the portal as a grad transfer, according to a report from 247Sports. He averaged 10.5 points and five rebounds per game in 2022-23 after averaging 12.3 points and 6.3 rebounds per game as a junior in 2021-22.
Destination: LSU
Stute announced via social media that he was entering the portal March 13, opting to skip the NIT. In 2022-23, he averaged 8.4 points per game and shot 36% from three with 4.6 rebounds per game. In 2021-22, he led the SEC with a 43% 3-point percentage.
Destination: South Carolina
Dia announced on Twitter his intentions to enter the portal on March 25, saying, “I would like to thank all of Vanderbilt University for my first year and I truly loved it here.”The 6-foot-9 Dia spent 2022-23 as a reserve at power forward and center. He appeared in 20 games off the bench and averaged 2.6 points and 1.6 rebounds per game.
Destination: Belmont
Shelby, a 4-star recruit and the second-highest rated commit in Vanderbilt’s 2022 class, announced his intentions to enter the portal on social media March 25.
Shelby appeared in 14 games off the bench but did not play after a win over South Carolina on Feb. 14. He averaged 3.7 points per game and shot 31.1% from 3-point range.
