Knights Of Columbus, That Hurt! 
•The Princeton Women’s Basketball Team took the No. 3 UCLA Bruins to the limit but fell 77-74 at Pauley Pavilion on Friday evening.
•After two free throws from Madison St. Rose got the Tigers with in two, 76-74, with eight seconds to go, Princeton fouled and got a chance as UCLA’s Kiki Rice went 1-of-2 from the charity stripe.
•Following a timeout from Carla Berube, the Tigers’ long-distance heave was off the mark, leaving the Bruins with a three-point decision.
•UCLA went onto hold a four-point lead, 64-60, as the clock read 6:05, but Princeton did not go away, registering a 6-0 push to jump back on top, 66-64. The Bruins countered with a 6-0 run of its own, to set the score at 70-66 with 1:49 to go.
•After free throws from both teams, Kaitlyn Chen hit a bucket to get within two, 74-72, with 23 seconds left. UCLA’s Charisma Osborne scored two from the charity stripe followed by two from Madison St. Rose before the final sequence.
•Chen led all scorers with 24 points, adding three assists and three steals. Belker dropped in 20 points (a new career mark) on 6-of-8 shooting with four rebounds.

•The Tigers were selected No. 1 in the Ivy League preseason poll.
•The five-time defending Ivy League regular season and four-time defending Ivy League Tournament champions earned all 16 first-place votes to collect 128 voting points.
•Columbia was second with 103 points while Harvard was right behind at 102 points. 
•Penn was fourth (77) while Yale was fifth (69) followed by Brown (42), Cornell (39) and Dartmouth (16).
Carla Berube has been named to the 2024 Kathy Delaney-Smith Mid-Major Coach of the Year Preseason Watch List presented by Her Hoops Stats.
•In the three seasons played under Berube, the Tigers have won three Ivy League championships, posting a 40-2 record against Ivy opponents during the regular season. Overall, the Tigers are 77-13 (.855) during Berube’s tenure as head coach at Princeton.
Kaitlyn Chen has been named to the 2024 Becky Hammon Mid-Major Player of the Year Preseason Watch List, Her Hoops Stats announced.
•Chen was the 2023 Ivy League Player of the Year last season, posting career highs in almost every category. She led the team in scoring (16.2) while also posting 4.1 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game. Her 426 field goal attempts were fourth most all-t fifth most and her 487 points were sixth.
