Tyronn Lue holds nothing back in his evaluation of James Harden's performance with the LA Clippers – Marca English

Los Angeles Clippers head coach Tyronn Lue appears to be losing patience with the team’s star acquisition for this season, James Harden. However, the coach is thinking about how to solve his problem with “The Beard.”
In a press conference after their 126-144 loss to the Dallas Mavericks, Lue considered that Harden is struggling to adapt to the team’s small-ball system, due to him not having a preseason with the team.
“I think the small lineup doesn’t fit him well right now until he gets in better shape,” declared the strategist. The team’s strategy gives more offensive responsibilities to Harden, who is still struggling to get into a rhythm.
However, Lue believes he has the solution to this dilemma: “Keeping five on the floor with him as much as possible will really be good for us.”
James Harden arrived at the Clippers on October 31 after a complicated transaction with the Philadelphia 76ers, where he left amid a controversy with the team’s president of operations, Daryl Morey. The player signed for two seasons and $35.6 million.
More criticism for Harden
Lue wasn’t the only one to drop a truth bomb on “The Beard.” Mavericks analyst Brian Dameris let everything go against the player after the overwhelming loss to Dallas.
Dameris recalled Harden’s disastrous time in Philadelphia, where he would have had his every whim throughout a season, hiring and firing players according to Harden’s requests.
“You wanted a certain coach, they brought in Mike D’Antoni, you wanted to play a certain style, they played it, you wanted Dwight Howard, they brought him in and got rid of him when you were tired of him,” recalled Dameris.
According to the analyst, the team also turned a blind eye to the player’s lack of discipline. “You wanted to go to Vegas on off days, they looked the other way. You wanted the team to stay over so you could go out at night. They changed the schedule, and it didn’t work,” he noted.
However, experts believe that the Clippers’ problem goes beyond Harden. They assure that the team lacks an offensive identity and its defense looks like paper.
According to the analysis, Lue does not have a strong man on offense and seems to be in a turn-based offense between his four base players.
In this context, that the team’s bombshell signing, James Harden, is producing only 14.3 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 4.7 assists per game seems to be just a given.
