NBA Rumors: Milwaukee Bucks' Rival Superstar Big Man Linked to … – Wisconsin Sports Heroics
Thanks to their recent acquisition of Damian Lillard, the Milwaukee Bucks can breathe easy on the Giannis Antetokounmpo trade front. The former MVP recently declared his intention to leave Milwaukee if his championship objectives are not met, but this itch appears to have been appeased by Dame’s arrival — at least for now.
As it turns out, however, the same might not be the case for Joel Embiid and the Philadelphia 76ers.
Milwaukee Bucks’ Rival Superstar Linked to Trade
Greg Swartz of Bleacher Report recently listed the top five NBA superstars that he believes could be on the trade block sooner rather than later. Sixers fans won’t be pleased with the fact that Embiid is one of the players on the list.
“Forced to carry the organization through The Process years, Ben Simmons trade saga and now the James Harden drama, Embiid has had to carry a lot of weight on his broad shoulders as he continues to put up eye-popping numbers while making All-Stars games and winning his first MVP last season.
“… Embiid is now the prize whom all the top contenders should be waiting for. He’s one of the best players in the league and is just beginning what projects to be a reasonable four-year, $213 million extension.
“Look for the 29-year-old to be the next superstar traded, possibly as early as this season’s Feb. 8 deadline,” Swartz predicted.

This isn’t good news for Philly fans at all, but at the same time, you can’t really say that this comes as a complete shock.
James Harden is still in Philadelphia despite his incessant desire to jump ship, and it doesn’t seem like he’s going to be moved anytime soon. This saga has to be taking some sort of toll on Embiid, who incidentally, also had to go through the same process last year with Ben Simmons.
Swartz also points out that the Bucks may play a pivotal role in Embiid’s looming Philadelphia exit. Milwaukee’s recent acquisition of Damian Lillard, coupled with the Boston Celtics’ coup on Jrue Holiday, further exposes the fact that the Sixers have fallen behind significantly in the Eastern Conference.
According to Swartz, the teams to watch for a potential blockbuster swoop on Embiid are the New York Knicks, the New Orleans Pelicans, and the Golden State Warriors.
