NBA Rumors: Milwaukee Bucks Trade Giannis Antetokounmpo to … – Wisconsin Sports Heroics
If Giannis Anteotkounmpo ever decides to leave the Milwaukee Bucks, the Los Angeles Lakers are believed to be one of his potential landing spots. It’s pretty bizarre to imagine the former back-to-back MVP in the purple and gold uniform, but at the end of the day, you have to admit that we have seen crazier things in the NBA.
Milwaukee Bucks Swaps Superstars With Los Angeles Lakers
Eddie Bitar of Fadeaway World believes that there is indeed a path for Giannis to land in Hollywood. In his wild trade proposal, the Bucks send Anthony Davis to Milwaukee in a landscape-shifting blockbuster trade. Here are the details of the deal:
Los Angeles Lakers Receive: Giannis Antetokounmpo
Milwaukee Bucks Receive: Anthony Davis, Jarred Vanderbilt, 2029 First-Round Pick
Some folks believe that there’s just no way the Lakers will be able to team up LeBron James and Giannis on the same team. Well, Bitar thinks otherwise. In fact, his proposal suggests that LA part ways with Davis in order to get its hands on Antetokounmpo. If the Lakers succeed in doing so, they could have an unstoppable duo in LeBron and Giannis:
“Giannis Antetokounmpo will dominate inside and be the best defensive player in the NBA for the next few seasons, while LeBron continues being the smartest and greatest player in the game today due to his basketball I.Q., and nobody could beat this team that can legitimately guarantee a spot to the NBA Finals in 2024,” Bitar wrote.
Milwaukee Bucks Forms New Anthony Davis-Led Big 3
“Giannis Antetokounmpo will dominate inside and be the best defensive player in the NBA for the next few seasons, while LeBron continues being the smartest and greatest player in the game today due to his basketball I.Q., and nobody could beat this team that can legitimately guarantee a spot to the NBA Finals in 2024,” Bitar wrote.
As for the Bucks, losing Giannis would be an undeniably tough blow. However, the fact that they will get AD back means that they will not have to rebuild just yet. AD steps in as Milwaukee’s new cornerstone star to form a new-look Big 3 with Jrue Holiday and Khris Middleton. That’s a pretty formidable trio if you ask me — one that could very well go all the way in the East.
Moreover, Milwaukee also lands a serviceable big man in Jarred Vanderbilt. The 24-year-old power forward will compete for frontcourt minutes with the likes of Bobby Portis, Jae Crowder, and Robin Lopez.
The 2029 first-round pick is a pretty big deal too, as it gives the Bucks added flexibility for the future. They could also choose to flip it for another win-now piece to help them with their championship aspirations in the post-Giannis era.
