TAMPA (July 27, 2023) – University of South Florida men’s basketball head coach Amir Abdur-Rahim has announced the team’s non-conference schedule for the upcoming 2023-24 season, which will mark his first year at the helm of the Bulls.
The non-conference slate includes 11 games, seven of which will be played at the Yuengling Center in Tampa, two road tilts and a pair of marquee neutral site matchups against Florida State and Loyola-Chicago.
South Florida will open the 2023-24 campaign with four straight home games beginning with South Carolina State on Thursday, November 9. The Bulls then welcome Central Michigan (Wednesday, Nov. 15), Northern Iowa (Sunday, Nov. 19) and Maine (Wednesday, Nov. 22) to the Yuengling Center.
The Bulls outlasted Northern Iowa on the Panthers’ home court, 72-69, last season on a thrilling buzzer-beater by Tyler Harris.
USF’s first road trip of the season will take the Bulls to Hofstra (Thursday, Nov. 30) and UMass (Saturday, Dec. 2). Hofstra posted a 25-10 record last season, won the CAA regular season championship (16-2 record) and advanced to the second round of the NIT.
South Florida will then square off against Florida State on Saturday, December 9 in the Orange Bowl Basketball Classic at FLA Live Arena in Sunrise.
The Bulls return home on Tuesday, December 12 to host Arkansas-Pine Bluff before heading to Atlanta, Georgia for Hoopsgiving and a matchup with Loyola-Chicago on Sunday, December 17. Loyola-Chicago is two years removed from its last NCAA Tournament appearance.
USF wraps up its non-conference slate with home games against Albany (Friday, Dec. 22) and Alabama State (Friday, Dec. 29).
