Another quality class of 2024 NCAA Basketball prospect had recently announced a list of options. Billy Tre Richmond is a 6’5 guard/wing that currently resides in the state of New Jersey. He’s the son of Billy Richmond, who played for both Memphis and Vanderbilt in his college career.
The younger Richmond has the chance to become a quality basketball player in his own right. He’s an impressive offensive weapon already and has potential as a two-way player. His size and versatility make him an appealing prospect, currently ranked in the top 40 overall in the recruiting rankings.
Richmond is now down to eight options, a lot of them highly-regarded NCAA Basketball programs. Here’s a look at how he’d fit with each of them.
The Tide have a veteran-led backcourt for next season, including incoming transfer guards, Aaron Estrada and Latrell Wrightsell Jr. Another guard to watch is Rylan Griffen, a potential breakout star and NBA Draft prospect. They’re going to need multiple guards in the 2024 class and there are plenty of recruits considering Alabama. Richmond would have to decide soon to claim his spot here.
The Jayhawks know they’ll be losing two key guards on the roster no matter what in Kevin McCullar Jr. and Nicolas Timberlake. Plus, there’s a possibility that point guard Dajuan Harris Jr. and sophomore transfer Arterio Morris goes pro as well. With four-star freshman Jamari McDowell already in the fold, Richmond could face a potential logjam with this option.
