Twelve Home Games Highlight 2023-24 Maverick Women's … – Minnesota State University – Mankato Athletics

MANKATO, Minn. — The Minnesota State women’s basketball team will compete in 28 games during the 2023-24 season, including 12 games at home in Taylor Center. 
The Mavericks host University of Northwestern (Minn.) in an exhibition game on Saturday, Oct. 28 (6:30 p.m.), before opening its regular season schedule with six nonconference games.  
MSU begins its season in Billings, Mont., as it takes on three teams at the Montana State Billings Tournament. The Mavericks open on Nov. 3 against Florida Tech (5:45 p.m. CST), before taking on Texas Women’s University, which was the No. 2 seed in the NCAA South Central Region Tournament last year, on Nov. 4 at 1:15 p.m. (CST). MSU then wraps up the tournament on Nov. 5 as it faces Texas A&M – Kingsville at 2:00 p.m. (CST). 
Minnesota State heads south to St. Joseph, Mo., to take part in a pair of games at the Regional Crossover Challenge. MSU opens the weekend on Nov. 10 as it takes on Southern Nazarene, which was the No. 8 seed in the NCAA Central Region Tournament last season, at 12:30 p.m. The Mavericks finish the weekend on Nov. 11 as they face Fort Hays State at 2:45 p.m. The Mavericks are 2-2 against the Tigers all-time, including two meetings in the NCAA Tournament. 
MSU opens its NSIC schedule at home vs. Minnesota Duluth on Nov. 21. The Mavericks and Bulldogs met in the second round of the NCAA Tournament last season, as UMD managed to advance to the finals before falling to Ashland. Minnesota State then wraps up its nonconference schedule at home on Nov. 25 as it hosts UW-Parkside at 2:00 p.m.
The Mavericks close out the 2023 calendar year with six games in the month of December. MSU’s three home games include Sioux Falls (Dec. 1/7:30 p.m.), Southwest Minnesota State (Dec. 2/5:30 p.m.) and Concordia-St. Paul (Dec. 19/TBA). Between its games against SMSU and CSP, MSU will compete in three road games at Augustana (Dec. 8/7:30 p.m.), Wayne State (5:30 p.m.) and Winona State (Dec. 14/7:30 p.m.).   
The month of January will see Minnesota State compete in eight games, including three at home. The Mavericks begin the month on Jan. 5 with a 5:00 p.m., home game against Northern State before beginning a four-game road trip. MSU opens its road trip at Bemidji State on Jan. 12, before it heads to Minnesota Crookston on Jan. 13, with game times set for 7:30 p.m., and 5:30 p.m., respectively. MSU then travels to Minot State on Jan. 19 (5:30 p.m.) and the University of Mary on Jan. 20 (3:30 p.m.).  
The Mavericks then return home for a pair of games against St. Cloud State (Jan. 26/5:30 p.m.) and MSU Moorhead (Jan. 27/3:30 p.m.), before finishing the month with a road game at Minnesota Duluth on Jan. 30, at 5:30 p.m. 
MSU concludes its regular season schedule with seven games in the month of February, including four at home in Taylor Center. The Mavericks’ three road games in the month of February will see them travel to Southwest Minnesota State (Feb. 2/5:30 p.m.), Sioux Falls (Feb. 3/3:30 p.m.) and Northern State (Feb. 17/5:30 p.m.). Before MSU’s final road game against NSU, the Mavericks will host Wayne State on Feb. 9 (5:30 p.m.) and Augustana on Feb. 10 (3:30 p.m.), before finishing its regular season schedule at home against Minnesota Crookston on Feb. 23 (5:30 p.m.) and Bemidji State (3:30 p.m.). 
The first round of the NSIC Tournament, which will be hosted on campus sites, is scheduled for Feb. 28. The final three rounds of the NSIC Tournament will be held from March 2-5 at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, S.D. 
The NCAA Central Region Tournament will be held from March 15-18, with its site to be determined. The NCAA Elite Eight will be held at the St. Joseph Civic Arena in St. Joseph, Mo., from March 25-29.
