Adrian Wojnarowski discusses how the Celtics, Grizzlies and Wizards completed their three-team trade for Kristaps Porzingis. (3:36)
The NBA offseason is underway, but before the Denver Nuggets even wrapped up this year’s title, they got a jump on trade season by swinging a deal during the Finals.
That rare move, which involved a swap of draft picks with the Oklahoma City Thunder, set the tone for what has already been a busy trade season. All-Star guard Bradley Beal is now in Phoenix, forming a big three with Kevin Durant. The Celtics acquired Kristaps Porzingis in a three-team deal with the Washington Wizards and Memphis Grizzlies, sending longtime guard Marcus Smart to the Grizz. Hawks big John Collins has a new home in Utah. Chris Paul is in the Bay Area. It’s all happening! Are Damian Lillard, Zion Williamson next? Will teams like the Thunder and Grizzlies capitalize on their large cache of draft picks by taking a big swing?
